Though this week has seen many a structure kill with the might of the Horde Standing Fleet rampaging through Fountain destroying anything they have the opportunity to, very few structure kills compare to that of a Keepstar, especially one as historic as this. The Keepstar in J5A, aptly titled “The Player of Games”, being destroyed signals a shift in momentum for the attacking forces as Keepstars are typically only on the menu when supercapitals are involved. However, no supercapital ships have been used to date by attacking forces in Fountain. As this Keepstar and other Keepstars fall this weekend, the attackers are on the doorstep of Delve. The most exciting part of this conflict is yet to come.
A video of the beautiful explosion was captured live on stream and sped up so you can enjoy it without the potato graphics or the PowerPoint style FPS.
In addition to the J5A Keepstar, two additional Keepstars in IGE and C-N are reinforced to their final timers and expected to die today (8/9) and tomorrow (8/10). Though no defenders were present for the defense of this Keepstar, it has been said that the other two Keepstars may be very well defended. We will be broadcasting the final timer and potential fight for the IGE Keepstar and the timer for C-N will likely be streamed by other popular Wartime streamers.
More than 3,100 people were present on this killmail with representation from all across the galaxy. Though most timers in the conflict to follow will likely not see this many pilots from the attacking side, it is quite the feat to put more than 3,000 people on field in various subcapital and capital ships. However, since this is the first Keepstar to ever be lost by the Imperium through reinforcement, you can imagine why so many people would want to be a part of this historic kill.
